The preliminary task had to include a station jingle ,presenter, a guest and an archive clip. The preliminary task was a 50 second mock radio show, which would help me plan my final 5 minute radio show.
For the preliminary task I came up with the name "CITY FM 102.5".
I then thought of ideas and scripted the 50 second clip. The 50 second clip starts with a bold jingle and the show is introduced by the presenter to the audience.
To create the jingle at the beginning of the showI repeated the recorded voice and over lapped them ( reverb and elaboration) This gave an echo effect to the original recording and made it sound more professional and studio like.
The next thing I did was find an actor who was willing to be the CITY FM presenter. I found someone to be my presenter, we then recorded a short sound clip of him starting the show off and introducing the guest of the day.
I then found my fictional guest who would be the "hero" and main star of the archive clip, at this point I had also found an actress to play the role of the heroes girlfriend.
The presenter then goes onto introduces Jason Howard who is promoting a new film called HOUR GLASS which had not been released yet.
As I had planned for the archive clip to be a trailer of an action movie, I directed the actor to speak in a deep action like voice to create the impression of a stereotypical action movie character.
After Jason Howard has introduced Hour Glass and has explained it , the trailer begins.
For the movie trailer I used the "BBC sound effects library" to create a variety of different sound effects, such as boat horns, heart beats and gun shots which are all present in the clip, i also used music in the trailer from an album called"Fast and exciting" to create the scene of the crime and to build up tension.
To overlap the different sounds and pieces of music, i used the multi-track screen on Adobe Audition 1.5.
The entire radio show including the trailer was recorded using a sure SM 58 microphone.
Below Is the completed preliminary task
